Lonesome Flutters

February 18, 2014

Tucked under covers;
Armed against gloom.
This, a feeble endeavour–
I quickly surrender
As autumn consumes.

No wonder. These days
They’re for lovers.
Never more easily beared
Are these heartbeats unshared;
These lonesome flutters.
