Dreamer

July 6, 2014

Why live in the world when I can make my own?
A place where I am king because I’m all alone.
Where countless puppets I control take any shape.
Escape.

Cycle the desires that my heart will let,
A catalog of things I have no chance to get,
Is my hope for happiness found behind my eyes?
These lies?

I’m just a dreamer,
Who dreamed his life away.
Only a dreamer,
And dreams they only stay.

Replaying the past the way it could have been,
I’ll never make a misstep and I’ll always win.
But do I have the power to decide my fate?
Too late.

Map a path through walls that can’t be travelled through,
My whim became the fate that showed me what to do,
I march to battle confident of future feats.
Retreat.

I’m just a dreamer,
Who dreamed his life away.
Only a dreamer,
And dreams they only stay.
